Congratulations, you have come to the right place if you want to maximize your chance of a complete recovery from cancer and return to full health.
With funding from the Rossy Foundation, this program has been designed by faculty and staff from Montreal University Teaching Hospitals associated with both McGill University and the Université de Montréal.
Who can we help?
We are currently recruiting individuals with Breast or Prostate cancer who are undergoing treatment, are awaiting treatment, or have recently completed treatment and are comfortable using the internet daily.
If you have another type of cancer click here.
Why does it work?
We recognize that fatigue is one of the most common complications following surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy leaving the majority of patients tired,
feeling low, and lacking the motivation to get back on their feet and enjoy the things that were once an important part of their routine.
Regular exercise has been proven to decrease fatigue, anxiety, low mood, sleep disturbances, and pain associated with treatments such as surgery, radiation therapy,
and chemotherapy. Improved fitness will also reduce your future risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease or improve your health status if you already are being treated for these health problems.
The Active Living Beyond Cancer Program is first and foremost a progressive physical activity and fitness program. The online tools will help you to assess your current
health status and then help you select a program that is right for you.
How long does it take to see results?
Everyone is different, but most individuals typically see real improvements in their energy and quality of life within 8-12 weeks.
